Emma Martens is our new volunteer who comes from Winnipeg, Canada. She is working her way towards a bachelors degree in international development and peace and conflict transformation studies, and she will be working with TLC for her practicum. Over the next 9 months, she will be helping at the Children’s Peace Libraries in Kigali, Gicumbi, and Rubavu. She will be assisting the librarian with her daily duties, as well as planning activities for the kids to help promote a culture of peace and a culture of reading. She will also be assisting the TLC supervisor with monitoring and reporting on the MCC funded project in conservation agriculture and savings for life and loans. We are very excited to welcome her into our TLC family.
