On September 21, 2023, the Transformational Leadership Center commemorated International Peace Day alongside the Children’s Peace Libraries of Rwanda, located in Kigali, Burera, Musanze, Gicumbi, Bigogwe, and Kanzenze. The children showcased a variety of activities to promote peace, including traditional dances, poetry recitations, heartfelt letters for peace, artistic drawings, a contemplative labyrinth peace walk, and the cultivation of a kitchen garden for peace. Additionally, a theatrical performance was featured, all aligning with the overarching theme of the day: “Actions for Peace: Our Ambition for the #GlobalGoals.”
The day was a splendid occasion, attended by a diverse group of visitors, including representatives from MCC, local leaders, and pastors from the Evangelical Friends Church of Rwanda. It was a joyous event, and visitors were delighted to witness these children actively spreading peace messages throughout the world.
As a token of appreciation for the dedication and participation of all students in International Peace Day, notebooks and pens were distributed to them. Furthermore, a hearty meal was shared with all participants, symbolizing the importance of communal harmony and unity in pursuing global peace initiatives.
