Each year, on the first Saturday of May, people across the globe come together to observe World Labyrinth Day—a day dedicated to walking the labyrinth as a path of peace, meditation, and reflection. In 2025, our celebration with the children was a truly heartwarming and enriching experience.
This year, 2025, the festivities began on Friday, May 2nd, with the children joyfully creating a vibrant and colorful Peace Pole—a symbol of unity and a visual reminder of our shared hope for a peaceful world.
On World Labyrinth Day itself, the children gathered to explore the deeper meaning and history of the labyrinth. They were introduced to its ancient roots and its continued role as a tool for mindfulness, prayer, and inner calm. It was inspiring to witness how deeply they engaged with the discussion, sharing their personal insights on how walking the labyrinth nurtures peace within and around them.
As part of the day, the children practiced using a Finger Labyrinth, thoughtfully drawing their designs and helping one another through the peaceful meditative process, and expressed genuine appreciation for the experience. Many shared how the labyrinth helped them feel more focused, peaceful, and connected to their thoughts and intentions.
The celebration concluded with a quiet, intentional walk through the labyrinth. The children walked with prayerful hearts, carrying intentions of peace for themselves and the world. This moment of quiet reflection was followed by a shared meal, fostering a sense of togetherness, gratitude, and harmony.
This year’s World Labyrinth Day was a beautiful reminder of how even the youngest hearts can carry powerful messages of peace and mindfulness, the power of simplicity, silence, and shared intention. We were reminded that peace begins within and, when nurtured, it can ripple gently outward into the world. We are deeply grateful to the children for their openness, creativity, and heartfelt participation.CHILDREN’S PEACE LIBRARY
