The Transformational Leadership Center (TLC) is proud to announce the successful implementation of its transformative project, “Save Life, Safe Water,” in collaboration with WaterStep, a global leader in providing sustainable water solutions. This initiative aims to address the critical need for access to clean and safe drinking water for families living near the Gicumbi Library compound, as well as students and community members in the surrounding area.
The “Save Life, Safe Water” project focuses on providing sustainable access to purified water for families and students residing in the region, particularly those living 1,779 meters above sea level, where access to clean water is scarce and challenging. Through this initiative, TLC has installed a state-of-the-art water purification machine at the Gicumbi Library, capable of purifying 5,000 liters of water within just 8 hours. This innovative solution ensures a consistent supply of safe drinking water, significantly improving the quality of life for the community. The installation of the water purification system has already begun to transform lives. Families who previously struggled to access clean water now have a reliable source, reducing the risk of waterborne diseases and improving overall health. Students, including Iradukunda Grace, Pascaline, and Kelly Samuel, along with Odette Mukabalisa, the library teacher, have expressed their gratitude for this life-changing initiative. They highlighted how the project has not only provided safe water but also fostered a sense of hope and community well-being. This project would not have been possible without the invaluable support and expertise of WaterStep, an organization dedicated to providing sustainable water solutions to communities in need. Their collaboration with TLC has enabled the implementation of cutting-edge technology and training, ensuring the long-term success and maintenance of the water purification system.
